This line of lightweight, moderate control shapewear actually dates back 40 some years to the Exquisite Form Magic Lady line of lightweight girdles and undies. Exquisite Form dropped the line several years ago and Cortland picked it up. There have been some changes to these girdles over the years. Originally they had a significant rubber content (35%); later on the rubber was replaced with the more durable spandex. They also no longer have garters. These shapers still have a very loyal following today, and long-time “expert” wearers have been extremely pleased with the Cortland version. Once you get one of these on (they’re really teeny) they’re very comfortable and do a nice job of shaping. They come in three versions – brief, long leg and pantliner. BTW, if you’re not familiar with Cortland, they have been quietly making shapewear since the 1920’s, starting as the Cortland Corset Company and now known as Cortland Foundations, located in beautiful apple country – Cortland, New York.
