I am a grown woman with very small breasts (non-existent is probably a more accurate word!). This is not a complaint! I see woman with large breasts and I think, "Those are only appealing to men-- who don't have to deal with the backaches!" I am very content with being flat-chested. It has been an advantage in athletics my whole life.

However, I do have a complaint that so few lingerie companies acknowledge small-chested woman. Sure, every maker carries the A cup bras. But, to the very flat-chested, an A cup is as remote as a DD cup! It hangs off my chest and looks bumpy and unnatural under clothes because it's essentially fabric holding nothing. And, to add insult to injury, most bras that are designed for small chests are PACKED with padding! I guess the general consensus is that if you happen to be THAT flat-chested, you want to beef up. Ugh. I hate that. I have been known to go to the pre-teen department to buy training bras. Imagine that! A 30-something woman in the pre-teen department. It's humiliating-- and the sizes are often not large enough in inches (they typically stop at 30" or 32").

I'm constantly on the lookout for the perfect bra: one that has small enough cups that they fit a smaller-than A cup and are not stuffed with inches of padding. So far, the best ones I've found are made by Playtex in the Thank Goodness It Fits line of bras. They have a Nearly A cup size that seems to work for me-- although not all of the styles fit equally well. I've done trial and error on all the styles. I really like the Santoni style and the Passion-Net Wirefree models. I've purchased them in department stores and they can be pricey-- although totally worth it considering no one makes anything like it. I somehow found out about One Hanes Place where they sell Playtex bras at a discount. Now, I buy them there.
